Kenya National Highways Authority has resorted to the use of technology to scale up its vigilance on trucks to ensure that they do not carry excess cargo. The Virtual Weighbridge System (VWS) runs on a High Speed Weighing in Motion (HSWIM) backbone which captures data from the sensors and cameras, classifies the vehicle and thereafter transmits the data for analysis at the Control Center.
In line with our slogan for this year ‘Fulfilling the Mandate’, the Bi - Annual Meeting happened on the 24th of May 2019 , at Nokras Riverine – Sagana, Upper Eastern Chapter. Being the leading association of truck owners
and drivers in the country, it is paramount to
facilitate and encourage further training and
development of our members, this we achieve
using different partners and holding of several
sensitization meetings countrywide in order to
increase business skills for truck owners,
refresher courses for our drivers on new and
existing laws, health and wellbeing, loading
levels and business networking.
We value the importance of an all-round
approach to relationships with prospective
partners and stakeholders in the industry. We
have a collaborative approach to issues that is
flexible and can respond quickly to the needs
of both our members, partners and clients.
Our Association is, at its heart, more of an
all-round society and community based. We
acknowledge that we should be involved in
supporting local communities especially from
where our members source raw materials. This
we do by offering free training on skills and
business advancement to the loaders, farmers,
loggers etc. this will strive to ensure that
the chain is intact and everyone benefits.
